Well that plan didn't work! We needed a two day weather window to sail the two legs down to Sines and then Lagos. We were due to leave early Wednesday but unfortunately the storm that hit the UK today also had it's effect down here with F6/7 winds - so we decided to play tourists instead. Upside was that I was able to see England win their first game of football for ages. We went up the bar Iberico in one of the town's squares and had a meal, a few beers and great craic with the other 50 or so England supporters.
The first half of the week was really nice weather - after Sue left - but last night brought the first sign of clouds and by this morning it was horizontal rain for a couple of hours. The forecast (which has been spot on!) is showing high winds tomorrow and then reducing on Saturday for a few days. Looks like then it will be early Saturday we leave although any hint of high winds and we will delay a day - Liverpool are playing United at lunch-time Saturday. This isn't a bad place to get stuck waiting for weather. A bit expensive in the marina but so much to do. Time then for another day in Lisbon tomorrow!
......and if Sue sends me the pictures, I will post a blog entry on our days moored next to royalty!
