Internet connections have been few and far between but I am now sitting in the Maritim cafe in Mahon in the warm sunshine sipping a cold beer.
We sailed from our last anchorage yesterday (Tuesday). It was a 25 mile passage with 15-18knt headwinds and a 1-2 metre swell for half the time. We managed to sail most of the way which is a first!! We moored up on the Sunseeker pontoon which was supposed to be cheap but wasn't. At 50 Euros a night it is typical of what we have seen. Toilets and showers are the best yet but are only open when the office is open which is 8am to 6pm. Staff are also very helpful.
Mahon is very empty though. Lots of visitors mooring bouys free. We did a quick tour of the town yesterday evening, managed to download the weather forecast and the plan is to set off tomorrow early for the bottom end of Sardinia. The forecast looks reasonalby good and should have a fair amount of wind behind us. I'll get back with more info when we get there which hopefully will be Friday evening.
No news on China Blue. But Arwen is steaming ahead and is now past Cartagena. Piper is still in Gib. Maybe leaving Saturday. Back to Lagos for us tomorrow.
